Southern Tree Agama 

Meet the Southern Tree Agama Acanthocercus atricollis. A striking mainly abaoreal reptile who is a master of disguise. 

 

This particular lizard can be recognised by its bright blue head in breeding deason. 

 

 

At Welgevonden Biomonitoring Camp, there are plenty around and since they can live up to X years, it's lovely to keep returnung and finding them in the same spots. 

 

 

On this particuar summer morning, I took adavtage of a morning off and made it my mission to observe the Agama from exiting its tree-trunk and see how it navgates across to the trees to feed.
